Fast Feudal · 4 Yatai — Sengoku Daimyo AoE4
Matsuri, three Yatai, Ryokan (0:00–4:20)
Start the Ryokan at 3:25 with 7 villagers prepared in advance (4 from food, 3 from gold): Age II arrives at 4:20 with 20 villagers and three Yatai out.
- 0:03 — 1 villager builds a Matsuri near the gold (and wood if possible), then mines there; 3 mine gold, 2 chop a straggler tree. The Town Center rallies on sheep and never stops; the Matsuri points at the first Yatai spot, often the boar.
- 0:20 — The Matsuri is nearly done, and the miners help if needed. Drop off 30 gold, buy wood and then the first Yatai; 4 villagers stay on gold.
- 0:40 — At 50 wood, 1 sheep villager goes to the berries and builds a Farmhouse. When the first Yatai comes out, place it; the Matsuri then points at the second spot, often the deer.
- 1:00 — Never stop the Town Center: villagers #10 and #11 are queued as soon as you have 50 food.
- 1:15 — At 120 gold, when the miners carry 10 gold, force the drop-off and buy the second Yatai. When it comes out, around 1:30, place it; the Matsuri points at the third spot, in the base between the berries and the sheep.
- 1:40 — When the straggler tree has only 50 wood left, 1 woodcutter goes to sheep and 1 to gold. At 40 gold, force the drop-off to reach 50 and research Tawara at the Farmhouse.
- 1:50 — At 6 villagers on food, the rally point switches to gold.
- 2:15 — Force the gold drop-off up to 130, buy wood and then the third Yatai. At 6 miners, rally on food until 8.
- 2:40 — Form the age-up group in advance: 7 villagers, 3 from gold and 4 from food. New villagers go to wood, the started tree first. The third Yatai comes out: place it, then the Matsuri points at the fourth spot.
- 3:25 — Age up: the 7 prepared villagers build the Ryokan. The remaining food villagers go to wood, the Yatai feed the Town Center well enough. The population is full the moment the Ryokan finishes.
Fourth Yatai, then adapt (4:20)
Reinvest the Age II lead straight away at 4:20: Takezaiku and a fourth Yatai, then production suited to what the opponent has shown.
- 4:20 — Ryokan done: Age II. There is enough to pay for Takezaiku, the second economic upgrade, at the Farmhouse, and to buy the fourth Yatai right away.
- — After that, it all depends on the map, the opponent and your plan: military production, a Forge on the stone (the Matsuri already holds the gold), the first Daimyo Estate. Against an aggressive civilization, a Stone Wall Tower on the gold; a Farmhouse on the deer if the map is yours.
Tips
- Play it when the starting gold is close and safe, or from a pocket position in team games: the Matsuri is the heart of the economy, and if it is badly placed the enemy attacks it to cut off the gold and the Yatai.
- Force the gold drop-off when the miners carry 10 gold, to buy wood and Yatai on schedule: 120 gold for the second Yatai, 130 for the third.
- Prepare the group of 7 villagers from 2:40: the Ryokan starts at 3:25 without losing a second, and the population is full right when it ends.
- A hard build for beginners: lots of quick actions in the first minutes (forced drop-offs, a scout to control). The author announces a slower, simpler version.
- Variant: Emil30000 clicks up at 3:37 with 4 berry villagers after three Yatai and reaches Age II at 5:16; slower, but fewer tight actions.
