Fast Castle · Hunting — Jin Dynasty AoE4
Faraway hunt, Great Pasture at 3:10 (0:00–5:10)
Click up at 3:10 with 11 villagers (5 on food, 3 on gold, 3 builders): 5 Mounted Villagers collect the hunt away from base, and the Town Center reindeer are saved for later.
- 0:00 — Queue: 2 Mounted Villagers, then regular Villagers. The 3 starting villagers mine gold (one builds a Mining Camp); rally on the reindeer under the Town Center.
- 1:10 — The next 2 Mounted Villagers hunt the reindeer under the Town Center.
- 1:25 — Drop off the food (you can then queue 3 villagers), then the 5 Mounted Villagers build a Mill on the deer. Research Mohe Ancestry.
- 1:30 — The next 2 regular Villagers cut a stray tree to get 50 wood.
- 1:50 — Rally on gold. With 50 wood, those villagers build a House, then go to gold.
- 2:50 — 5 villagers on gold, 5 on food.
- 3:10 — The gold is enough for the age-up: 2 gold villagers and 1 new villager from the Town Center build the Great Pasture.
- 3:30 — Rally on the stray tree already started for 100 wood (Grassland), queued toward gold afterwards; then on the next stray tree: a House will be needed.
- 4:30 — The wood villagers join the gold once the tree is finished.
- 4:50 — Target split just before Age II: 5 on food, 2 on wood, 6 on gold and 3 builders.
Heavy gold, Mountain Hall (5:10–7:35)
Load up the gold (11 miners by 5:50), then start the Mountain Hall at 6:10 with 8 regular Villagers: Age III at 7:35 with 23 villagers.
- 5:10 — Age II: one builder puts up a Grassland, the other two go to gold; rally on gold.
- 5:50 — A wood villager builds a House just before 20 population; the Town Center rallies on food.
- 6:10 — Age up: 8 regular Villagers leave the gold and build the Mountain Hall near the Town Center, to cover as many resources as possible. When the hunt runs out, the 5 Mounted Villagers go back to mining gold; the wood villagers build a Lumber Camp.
Monks, Grassland Pagodas, relics (7:35)
Take the relics with Monks, harass with Iron Pagodas made at the Grasslands, and reopen Mounted Villager production for wood.
- 7:35 — Monks for the relics; research Upgrade to Veteran Iron Pagoda; make Iron Pagodas only at the Grasslands, to harass the opponent’s villagers.
- — An Emissary leaves the Town Center for the nearest neutral Trade Post. You can produce Mounted Villagers again: rally on wood.
- — Build a Grassland as soon as possible, and a War Stable if the Grassland is outside the Great Pasture’s influence. Farms with the Mounted Villagers if wood piles up; one more Monastery to cover the next gathering areas.
- — Too much gold: buy Collective Hunting. If the Iron Pagodas cannot contain the opponent, add units that counter theirs.
Tips
- Keep it for games where you will not be harassed in the Dark Age, nor preferably early in Age II: the faraway hunt leaves villagers exposed.
- The 5 Mounted Villagers collect the hunt away from base to pay for the age-up while the Town Center reindeer stay in reserve; after the first ones, switch to regular Villagers to spend the food without draining the starting gold.
- With the Great Pasture and two Grasslands, Iron Pagodas come out almost non-stop: Grassland horses cost 25 food less, appear instantly and show up faster in Age III.
- Variant: ElPavelo reaches Age III at 7:00 (Flower Pagoda at 3:30, Age II at 5:00, then the Dragon Pavilion at 5:50 with 3 villagers from the reindeer and 2 from gold).
- Variant: Valdemar builds his Dragon Pavilion at 6:20 with 5 Mounted Villagers, in the centre next to the Town Center, then starts a Monastery and Iron Pagodas right away.
