Yumi and samurai — Japanese AoE4
Forge, sheep, Kura at 2:15 (0:00–4:00)
Reach Age II at 4:00 with 17 villagers: 3 on gold at a Forge, food from sheep, then the Kura Storehouse built by 4 villagers from 2:15.
- 0:00 — 1 villager builds a Farmhouse next to the berries, then brings a sheep over to eat there; 5 villagers on sheep. Rally on sheep until 7 on food.
- 0:40 — Rally on gold: 3 villagers go there and the first builds a Forge. Then rally on food.
- 2:15 — Age up: 4 sheep villagers build the Kura Storehouse, against the treeline. 3 more villagers go chop trees; 4 stay on food. Rally on wood.
- 4:00 — Economy upgrades in order: Tawara, Double Broadax, Takezaiku. Then at the Forge: Steeled Arrow, then Iron Undermesh.
Archery Ranges and Barracks (4:00)
Go up to 12 villagers on wood, then rally on food; 2 Archery Ranges and 1 Barracks around 5:00, Yumi Ashigaru and Samurai production at 6:00.
- 4:00 — The 4 Kura Storehouse builders: 3 to wood, 1 to the Kura Storehouse Farms.
- 4:30 — Rally on wood up to 12 villagers, then on food for the rest of Age II. If needed, 1 gold villager builds an Outpost next to the gold.
- 4:45 — A berry villager builds a Farmhouse.
- 5:00 — A wood villager builds 2 Archery Ranges and 1 Barracks.
- 6:00 — Start producing Yumi Ashigaru and Samurai, and a Yumi Bannerman.
Tips
- Swaggy Professor’s plan: a mass of Yumi Ashigaru, backed by Samurai holding the line in front of them.
- Variant (Richarddurodo): Barracks right from the start, Kura Storehouse with 7 villagers at 2:50, Age II at 4:30; 2 Samurai or 4 Onna-Bugeisha from 5:05, then 2 Horsemen or 2 Yumi Ashigaru at 5:40; 10 Yumi Ashigaru and 3 Spearmen around 9:20.
- Against heavy cavalry, start with Spearmen (then the hardened version); otherwise Samurai are enough.
- Strike around 9 to 10 minutes: later than that, the opponent is already full Age II or in the Castle Age and the timing is lost.
- Daimyo Manor as soon as possible, then a Yumi Bannerman; at the Forge, Steeled Arrow and Iron Undermesh.
