Rush · Longbows — English AoE4
Gold first, then all-in on wood (0:00–3:58)
Age II at 3:58 with 17 villagers, a Barracks already up and 8 on wood: everything is ready to produce from the first second.
- 0:00 — 6 villagers on sheep; one of them builds a House.
- 0:20 — The next 2 villagers go to gold and build a Mining Camp.
- 1:00 — Rally new villagers to sheep.
- 2:10 — When 3,900 gold remain in a 4,000-gold vein (100 mined, plus 100 starting gold), move every gold villager to wood and build a Lumber Camp.
- 2:15 — Age up with the Council Hall: 4 villagers from sheep build it.
- 2:21 — Move 1 more villager from sheep to wood, and continue rallying on wood until 11 on wood.
- 3:20 — One of the Council Hall builders builds a Barracks.
- 3:35 — Another builder puts up a House. All builders return to sheep as soon as the Council Hall is done.
Non-stop Longbowmen and Spearmen (3:58–10:30)
Pressure the enemy from 4:30 with a steady stream of Longbowmen and Spearmen: about 40 units by minute 10.
- 3:58 — Age II: queue Longbowmen at the Council Hall and Hardened Spearmen at the Barracks, non-stop. Move out with 5 Longbowmen and 2 or 3 Spearmen.
- 5:40 — 1 villager to food, then rally on gold until 5 on gold: it pays for the Blacksmith, Steeled Arrow and Iron Undermesh.
- 6:00 — Add Farms with the surplus wood; hunt the deer once you control the map. Add Man-at-Arms if the opponent masses archers.
- 10:00 — Around minute 10, with 3 packs of Farms (24), stop producing and age up: The White Tower for Knights and safe resources, or King's Palace to scale into the late game.
Veteran upgrades (10:30)
Convert the pressure into an Age III timing: veteran upgrades, then Man-at-Arms against a Feudal opponent, Knights and relics against a Castle one.
- 10:30 — Upgrade Longbowmen and Spearmen to veteran; Wedge Rivets at the Blacksmith.
- 11:00 — Opponent still in Age II: Man-at-Arms with Armor Clad. Opponent in Age III: Knights, and a Monastery for the relics.
Tips
- Send the first 5 Longbowmen and 2–3 Spearmen to the enemy gold or wood line: deny the camp, do not attack the Town Center.
- Dangerous against early heavy cavalry (French, Jeanne d'Arc, Order of the Dragon): keep the Spearmen in front of the archers and never walk around the enemy base.
- An Outpost near the fight activates Network of Castles when enemies are in range, increasing the attack speed of your nearby units. Place one forward, towards the enemy.
- Balance Longbowmen and Spearmen with the enemy composition: more Spearmen against cavalry, Man-at-Arms against archers.
- Watch the gold vein: at 3,900 left you have the gold for the age-up — move the miners to wood right away, every extra gold would be wasted.
