1 TC · Early aggression — Knights Templar AoE4
Age-up at 2:20 (0:00–3:20)
Reach Age II at 3:20 with 13 villagers (3 on food, 10 on wood) and a single Town Center: the whole economy goes into military buildings.
- 0:00 — 6 villagers on food; one of them builds a House.
- 0:20 — Rally on gold for 2 miners.
- 1:00 — Rally on food until 2:20, then age up.
- 2:20 — Age up with the Knights Hospitaller, the author’s default choice, at 13 villagers. Split right after: 3 on food, 10 on wood.
An army from Age II (3:20)
Research Safe Passage then Sanctuary, build a Barracks, an Archery Range and a Blacksmith from 4:40, then hold Age II with 2 Hospitaller Knights, 2 Spearmen and 10 Archers before Age III around 12 to 14 minutes.
- 3:20 — Age II: Safe Passage, then 2 villagers, then Sanctuary; only after that, unit production.
- 4:40 — A Barracks and an Archery Range, then a Blacksmith, and a Stable if needed. Take the deer and the boar with a Mill, and protect those spots with towers.
- 5:30 — Horticulture and Wheelbarrow; at the same time, 2 Hospitaller Knights, 2 Spearmen and 10 Archers.
- 9:00 — Economy mark: 14 villagers on food and 14 on wood, while the army keeps rolling.
- — Around 12 to 14 minutes: Age III, with Templar Brothers and Archers in mass. 5 villagers on stone for the Fortress.
Tips
- Spoonman’s variant, after Valdemar: same opening, but at 10:00 either go all-in in Age II or move up to Age III and produce Templar Brothers from 3 Stables.
- Spoonman’s variant: Mill and military buildings from 5:00, Archers and Spearmen at 6:00 with a few Hospitaller Knights, Steeled Arrow and Iron Undermesh between 7 and 8 minutes.
- Take the deer and the boar with a Mill and protect them with towers: with a single Town Center, every resource counts.
- The author likes to start the age-up at 2:20 with 13 villagers and build the Barracks and Archery Range from 4:40.
